Content-marketing.be · knowledge, frameworks, calculators and tools for content that keeps working
Everyone makes content. Most of it vanishes without anyone reading it. Build it around your customer's questions. Then it clicks, and it keeps working.
Content that keeps working.
What it is about
Content marketing is not publishing. It is helping, until someone wants to buy from you.
Content marketing is creating and distributing useful content for a clearly defined audience, so that audience gets to know you, trust you and eventually becomes a customer. Useful: it helps the reader, even if they never buy anything. Clearly defined: you write for people you can describe, not for everyone. Eventually: the effect comes later than with an advert, and often by a roundabout route. An article, a guide, a video, a newsletter, a calculator or original research: it all counts, as long as it solves something.
Advertising rents attention. Content earns it.
The shift
Five things to do differently.
BroadcastingHelping
Nobody searches for your press release. People search for answers to their own questions. Whoever helps best is remembered when the moment to buy comes.
VolumeDepth
With AI, anyone can produce a decent article in minutes. Mediocrity has become free. Your own knowledge, data and experience make the difference.
KeywordsQuestions
Start with the questions your salespeople get every week, not with a list of keywords. Search volume comes after, not before.
ClicksMentions
When there is an AI summary above the results, fewer people click through. Being cited and mentioned is a goal in itself.
PublishingPromoting
A piece nobody sees does not exist. Plan distribution before you write, and put budget behind the pieces that work.
Figures that count
Six figures about content marketing.
13.9%
of content marketers say their content delivers strong results. Between 2014 and 2022 that figure was always between 20 and 30 percent.
Source: Orbit Media, Blogging Statistics 2026, n = 1,042
What it does not prove That content works less well. It is self-reported and measures satisfaction, not revenue.
58%
fewer clicks on the first search position when Google places an AI summary above it. In April 2025 that was still 34.5 percent.
Source: Ahrefs, February 2026, 300,000 keywords
What it does not prove That all your traffic falls by 58 percent. It concerns informational searches in position 1.
96.55%
of pages in the Ahrefs index get not a single visitor from Google. If you publish without knowing which question you are answering, you are often writing for nobody.
Source: Ahrefs, Search traffic study, updated August 2026
What it does not prove That your content stands no chance. The index also contains billions of spam pages and duplicates.
1.74%
of newly published pages reach Google's top 10 within a year. The average page in position 1 is five years old.
Source: Ahrefs, How long does it take to rank, 2025
What it does not prove That new sites are hopeless. Of the pages that reach the top 10, 40.8 percent do so within the first month.
2.6×
more likely to see strong results if you work with experts or customers in your content. Publishing original research raises the odds by half.
Source: Orbit Media, Blogging Statistics 2026, n = 1,042
What it does not prove That one quote is enough. It is a correlation with a structured approach, not a proven cause.
87.4%
of Belgian internet users aged 16 and over use a search engine every month. 68.2 percent use AI tools monthly.

New · AI
AI makes it faster. You make it better.
92.4 percent of content marketers use AI. Creating goes faster, but results do not follow automatically: at CMI, 87 percent say AI improved productivity, but only 39 percent say the content performs better. Read what AI does in every phase, how much freedom you give it and how a tailored AI flow helps you create faster without becoming generic.

Frequently asked questions
Short and honest.
What is content marketing in one sentence?
Creating and distributing useful content for a clearly defined audience, so that audience gets to know and trust you and eventually becomes a customer. You earn attention instead of buying it.
What does content marketing cost for a Belgian SME?
A modest but serious programme with four articles, one case study, one newsletter and eight social media posts per month costs around 5,400 euros per month at an average freelance rate of 76 euros per hour, including coordination, 500 euros of promotion and tools. With an AI flow that saves 40 percent of the time, that drops to around 3,500 euros. Work out your own mix in the cost calculator.
How long does it take for content to deliver?
Think in quarters, not weeks. Only 1.74 percent of new pages reach Google's top 10 within a year. In our simulator, a typical B2B programme pays for itself after about two years. Stop after six months and you have incurred the costs and left the returns on the table.
Is content marketing better than advertising?
It does different work. Search ads deliver clicks immediately, but stop when the budget stops. Brand campaigns keep working for months, but deliver few direct clicks. Content starts slowly and then keeps working, on channels you own. The best programmes combine them, and also use ads to distribute content.
Does content still work now that AI gives the answers?
Yes, but differently. For searches with an AI summary, fewer people click through, so being cited and mentioned becomes as important as being visited. AI can only cite what someone has created first. Your own data, experience and clear answers therefore become worth more, not less.
Can I write content with AI?
Yes. Google judges content on quality and usefulness, not on how it was made. But always have a human check the facts, add expertise and do the final edit. Disclose AI where your audience expects it, and take the transparency rules of the AI Act into account.
How much should I publish?
Less than you think, but regularly. One strong piece per week that answers a real question better than what is already out there does more than five mediocre ones. Those who put more time into fewer pieces report strong results more often.
How do I measure whether content works?
Agree in advance what success means: leads, deals, sign-ups or revenue. Connect your website to your CRM, look at which pages people read before they got in touch and ask new customers how they found you. Visitors alone say little.
What exactly does Edge do?
Edge sets up tailored AI flows, so your team creates content faster and more cheaply. If you would rather not do it yourself, we take over the full process, including improving what AI produces. We make the biggest difference with promotion: getting content to the people who buy, steered on leads and deals.
Finally: the harness
With a harness you get even more out of Claude Cowork.
Claude Cowork is strong on its own. But the result depends not only on the model, but also on the layer around it: the harness. It gives the model a workplace with your company's knowledge, roles, methods and tools, so every colleague works with the same memory and nobody has to explain again how you do things. For content, that means your voice, your sources and your flows are built in. Edge has such a harness: Zaela. This site was built with it too.
